 FAQs

  • Hypnosis is completely safe and you are in control the whole time. We experience hypnosis naturally, as part of our daydreams and inner monologue, where we are changing our beliefs. In our sessions I will help you harness this power to de-hypnotise you of negative or unhelpful beliefs. You will be able to safely explore your thoughts and feelings so you can more forward with more control, feeling accepted, good enough and free to love the person you are.

  • The feeling of hypnosis can vary from a momentary drifting off to a deeper inner feeling. It is often described as a trance where your awareness of your surroundings and other thoughts fade into the background. The deeper the trance or hypnosis the more you are dissociated and able to think about the issue your are here to resolve.

  • Hypnosis helps people change thief beliefs at a subconscious level. We frequently assume that we always behave rationally and are creatures of reason. This is not the case and it is our subconscious that rules us behind the scenes. Often the harder we try the more fail. This is because our subconscious beliefs are out on line with our conscious wishes. This may be on any area and this is why hypnosis has such a wide application. Phobias, public speaking, addictions, loss, self-esteem, pain management and many illnesses are all linked to our subconscious.

  • This is depends on the problem(s) you are seeking help with. Sometimes a seemingly simple issue has a deeper cause than was expected at the outset. I try to be flexible with my time to achieve a complete solution. Overcoming habits can often be achieved in one to two sessions. Making changes that stem from deeper emotional issues may take three to five sessions. It is always helpful to have a preliminary conversation. I can learn the general areas you want help with and give you a better indication on the number of sessions.

  • In a word, yes! As long as you have a reliable internet connection, can support your camera without having to hold it and have a place where you are comfortable and not interrupted. It is a good `idea to keep your phone on until we start the session in case of connection issues. Once we begin I will ask you to turn off the phone and keep it off until the end of the session. If for some reason we lose connection and it does not reconnect automatically please turn your phone back on and I will call that number.

If you are hypnotised and the connection is lost, do not worry as you can naturally bring yourself out of hypnosis. Occasionally people nod off at this stage. Again do not worry as you will be out of hypnosis when you wake up and depending on timing we can continue.

  • Please feel free to call me but I suggest booking a time to speak because I routinely switch off my phone. When I am with a client my focus is with them completely and I do not want them to be disturbed. I also switch off my phone when I am doing other things so that I am not half listening. When we arrange a time to call I will make sure I am in a quiet place with a good signal so that I can give you 100% of my attention.

  • Understandably, people are often nervous about booking an appointment with someone they have never spoken to. In this call I generally explain what I do and a little about hypnosis. I may ask what you are hoping to achieve so that I can tell you if I hypnotherapy can help. The main reason for speaking before booking a session is to answer any questions or to discuss any concerns you may have. I want you to feel confident you have made a good choice in coming to see me or arranging a meeting by Zoom. I like to give people time and happy to go through all of your questions. I may be able to cover everything in ten minutes or it may take half an hour depending on the number of questions you have.

  • Yes, I have full Professional Indemnity Insurance. This is a practice requirement of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

  • Professional hypnotherapists are not allowed to offer guarantees or warranties on their services. These are rules laid down by the professional organisations of which I am a member and professional indemnity insurers. The reason guarantees are not allowed is because hypnotherapy and coaching is a collaboration between the therapist and the client. I work hard for my clients and will only offer my services in areas I am qualified to help. If I think I am not helping I will always let you know.

  • Yes! There are hundreds or thousands of great videos offering hypnosis on the internet for any manner of conditions and they may work but do they really address your problem and fit with your beliefs? If not, your subconscious will reject them as it has already ignored all of the other things you have tried. My solutions are bespoke and tailored to you. I aim to uncover the deeper reasons that are preventing you from making the changes you want. I help you reframe your underlying beliefs so that your problems are eased at the deepest level. This is what brings about lasting relief.
